Kirk, a CrossFit Level 2 trainer, has been doing CrossFit since 2007 and became a coach in 2008. His passion for CrossFit led Kirk and his wife, Melissa, to open a gym in Connecticut in 2010, which they owned until July of 2021. Kirk is from one of the snowiest places in the country, outside Syracuse NY, and graduated from nearby Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. He looks forward to NOT seeing snow this winter!
I had never done a clean or snatch or anything like it before, so this was all new to me when I started CrossFit, but I loved it immediately,” said Kirk. “Each lift, movement, and the workout was its own little challenge and I couldn’t wait to come back and try it again and see if I could improve. Every day was different, we were always trying new things, and I just couldn’t get enough. All these years later and I’m still a total CrossFit junkie, and just want to pass that on to as many people as possible.
I’ve been doing and coaching CrossFit for a long time, and I’m still a total CrossFit junkie. I love showing a new athlete all of these cool movements they probably haven’t done or even seen before. It’s a whole new world for most people, and I love introducing them to it. I’m lucky to have met so many amazing people through this sport, and the incredible camaraderie you feel by working out with a group of friends. I enjoy the challenge you get from each and every one of these workouts, no matter how simple it may look, and I and just want to pass that on to as many people as possible.
